Following the school’s ‘outstanding’ Ofsted inspection, the religious life of the school has now been inspected by Salford Diocese.

It's official! In November 2009 Ofsted described St Peter’s as “an outstanding school, where students from a wide range of backgrounds achieve well.”
St Peter’s pupils and staff have been presented with the Healthy Schools Gold Award.

St Peter’s RC High School is one of 227 high schools in England to achieve, through a highly rigorous application process, specialist status in Business and Enterprise (B&E), as part of the government’s national specialist schools programme. The initial period of designation is four years, so that St Peter’s is now at the mid way point of its first phase of designation. Challenging targets are set out for each year of the specialist status, together with activities to achieve them. Those targets which are designed to benefit learners are identified in a school plan. A community plan sets out targets for the contributions that will be made through the specialist subjects to the work of partner schools and community groups.
